Google has just announced that, ‘Next version of Android OS (Android 4.4) will be known as KitKat’. It is a surprise from Google as company indicated in the past that next version would be named as ‘Key Lime Pie‘.
‘KitKat’ is a candy bar product of Swiss food and beverage maker ‘Nestle‘.
John Lagerling, director of Android global partnerships, told to the BBC that,
This is not a money-changing-hands kind of deal. The idea was to do something ‘fun and unexpected’.

Google Just launched an video that shows how they unveiled the ‘Android 4.4 KitKat Statue‘ in their California campus. In the videos you can see that ‘Android Kitkat‘ is a surprise for Googlers as well.
Google Executive ‘Sundar Pichai’ confirmed on Android’s Google+ page that next version of Android OS will be named as ‘Android KitKat’

He also confirmed in the same post that Android has surpassed 1 billion Android device activations.
Eat KitKat bar and win Nexus 7 tablet
Android officials has publically updates on Android’s Google+ page that next version of Android OS (Android 4.4) will be named as ‘Android KitKat’ and they have mentioned that few lucky people can win a Nexus 7 tablet or Google Play Credits if their KitKat bar contain a winning ticket number.
You can see in below image that KitKat wrapper will also show a small Android logo.
