EagleGet – Free Internet Download Manager
IDM (Internet Download Manager) no doubt is the best download manager but the only problem with this software is that it is not free. However, if you are looking for something similar but you don’t want to pay for that then ‘EagleGet’ is the download manager made just for you.
Ever since I downloaded EagleGet on my PC, I don’t miss IDM (Internet Download Manager) at all. EagleGet is the best free downloader.
EagleGet performs in the very same way by grabbing downloads from your browser and download it and save on your harddisk.
EagleGet – How it works?
Whenever you are playing a video, you will see a download option on the right top corner of the window and once you click on that you will be presented with all the resolution quality in which you can download it. Once you select any one of them, then EagleGet will starts its work to download that file for you.
You can even directly search for YouTube videos in EagleGet user interface. There is an option called Video Sniffer; just click on that and you can either search for a video or you can manually paste an URL.
Compatibility with browsers
EagleGet is fully compatible with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. You can always right click any link and select download with EagleGet. However IDM started facing some problems with integration in Chrome and Firefox. This is another reason why I switched to EagleGet.
Check download progress
You can see the progress of the file at the top right corner of the screen. This is movable and you can drag it anywhere on the screen. One you hover over your muse on that it will show you the percentage of download it has completed. Now if you double click on that you will get the main EagleGet Interface opened on your screen.
Not only YouTube but EagleGet works very well with other services as well like ‘Dailymotion’, ‘Tune.Pk’ or ‘Facebook’. It is not going to show you in how many parts it is downloading the video or any file as seen in the case of IDM but it probably does that in the same way with max possible speed as in IDM.
You can also add download links manually to EagleGet by clicking the big plus button. Once you click, it will automatically show you the last copied thing, however if that is not the download link, you can select all and then paste the link you copied.
The default download location is in the documents under the name EagleGet but you can set it wherever you want. You can also customize it to save different files like videos and audios in different folder just like IDM.
