Summary of the Match
After winning the toss, Indian captain chose to bowl first and the bowling was started with Bhuwaneshwar Kumar who gave India a very good start by his magic spell of 3-0-3-0. West Indians were not able to maintain their run rate from the beginning of the match that was not expected from the West Indies team. Opener Dwayne Smith was unable to perform well and was caught and bowled at 11 by R Ashwin after facing 29 balls. Gayle remained high scorer with 34 runs in 33 deliveries. Amit Mishra took 2 wickets in 4 overs conceding 18 runs, while Sir Ravindra Jadeja took 3 overs for giving out 48 runs in his 4 overs. The Whole West Indies team could score only 129/7 in 20 overs having an exceptional last over of the innings having 21 runs with 3 sixes off Jadeja’s over.
Indian team also failed to get a good start as Indian opener S Dhawan went to pavilion without scoring a run in the first over of Samuel Badri.
