PayPal, that was known mostly for online secure payment service; now testing another great feature ‘Face verification system’ that will allow you to make payment using PayPal mobile app securely.

Updated PayPal app now has a new tab called ‘Local’ that you can use to find shops and general stores near to your place that accept mobile PayPal payments.

Once you enter in a shop that accept mobile PayPal payments; check-in to your mobile PayPal app and your Name and photo will appear on the shop till you make payment. Cashier can charge shoppers by clicking on shopper’s profile picture. Customer will get an alert on their phone about the amount paid.

Rob Harper, Head of Retail Services at PayPal, said, “We’re pleased to help local businesses of all sizes offer a new more personal experience, while never having to turn away customers who don’t have enough cash on them to pay. Now locals in Richmond can leave their wallet or purse at home and be the first in the country to use their profile picture to pay.”

Currently this functionality is in testing phase and available at selected shops in Richmond, UK.
